It is easy within the actual dhcpd.conf file, it is just that Vyatta and EdgeMax don't support it.
My preference for avoiding VLANs is that a few computers end up being plugged into the phone's switch port (locally at handset), so I end up having to have the phone be responsible for vlan tagging those packets... it just gets messy quickly.
Scripting modifications to the dhcpd.conf directly to add in the groups seems really kludgey.
