Correct, I did this and it opens both 443 and the translated port on the WAN side.  Not good.  Oh well, something so easy on one router can't be done on another.

Moreover, security gurus all claim VPN to be the method having better security. I go for the filter on source IP.  VPN will just expose another firewall function to the internet, (ike or tcp 1723...)....
