Hi, Hope you can help me with this as I've done many atempts to solve it but oviously I haven't got into the solution yet.
The situation is that currently I have an ERPro-8 in a datacenter which has its 2 SFP interfaces bridged in order to allow the other 2 routers on the endpoint to pass-through the HSRP ethernet frames (endpoint routers are 2 Cisco).I was wondering if the bridging is affecting me a lot in teh performance or if it could be done any other way (I've read on the forums that switching the interfaces instead of bridging them is recommended but honestly I'm not entirely sure if it can be done...)
The bridged interface also have multiple Ip addresses and I have some NAT to reach some servers right behind the router itself that has the connection to the internal lan through a backbone switch and some other distribution switches. As of today, everything "almost" works but yet, I have been unable to upgrade the router Firmware from 1.6 to anything newer, with each new release all the NAT stops working and even by deleting all the configuration related to NAT and recreating it from scratch doesn't seem to work.
On the other hand, the HSRP hasn't ever worked as it seems that the ethernet frames don't really work at 100%, but It's not worrying me as of now. The NAT issue is worrying me quite a lot as that's the only thing stopping me to upgrade the ERPro-8 to the newest firmware which includes all the security fixes ans performance improvements.
Do you have any clue about why this might happen? I can post my config for reference in case it's needed.
Thanks in advance!
