Offloading causing RDP issues

Hello,

So the tl:dr is that RDP connections to a termial server were constantly disconnecting/reconnecting and I believe it happened due to offloading.

From what I can tell as soon as I run;

set system offload ipv4 forwarding enable

on the client side it starts acting up. I'm wondering if it is worth testing offloading again when I move to the newest firmware from the two I'm currently running (1.7 and 1.8). Could the issue be caused by having offloading enabled on one router and not the other? Is there anything I can do to make offloading work correctly?

 Here is a simple diagram of what I'm looking at;

Both sides of the connection are handled by ERL's.

After some testing it was determined the issue only happens when connecting to Site2 from Site1. Connections from home (even tested using my phones LTE) worked fine. After restoring configurations and trying a bunch of stuff, I eventually targeted offloading. I never enabled it at Site2 (ERL2), but it was set for multiple features on ERL1. I disabled all of them and was suprised to see it worked. Also, the RDP connections are far more responsive now. I'm really suprised by this. I do plan to enable each offloading setting 1 at a time to see when the issue occurs.

Site1's ERL currently has v1.8.0 firmware. Site2's ERL has v1.7.0. I had planned to update Site2 but I don't like to when I'm not onsite since it's a 4 hour drive and I have (once) had an ERL lock up on me. I'm hoping this is just a bug and fixed because offloading from my understanding was supposed to help performance and also is needed for DPI I believe.

Strangly I never saw this issue for months/years. I suspect I must have caused it because I was testing out setting up a ipsec site-to-site with vti and ospf (which worked great) and most likely in the process I enabled offloading for something that was off before. I reloaded an old configuration and then found this as the cause.
