case 1: I hook up two modems or bridged routers from the same ISP and both give the USG public IP with same subnet/gateway. This does not work.
case 2: I hook up two modems or bridged routers from the same ISP and cofigure USG for two PPPoE connections. This MAY work? what should I pay attention to?
Case 3: I hook up two routers from the same ISP and both are configures with DHCP server on different local subnet/gateway (192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1 are the routers IP/gateway): Does this work?
Case 4: same ISP, mixed PPPoE and local IP/gateway/public IP/gateway. Does this work?
I understand that:
1) configuring PPPoE is "cleaner"
2) Using different ISP is better for fault tolerance
The issue here in italy is that only one ISP of the ones selling FTTC services permits PPPoE sessions on their modem/routers (and customers are forced to use ISP modem/routers). Plus, some zones are only covered by one ISP only.
