If you unplug the router from the internet (isolated to you and your laptop), what do you get with a ping to the broadcast address on each interface? What do you get with a tcpdump -vvv -i ___ (your interface)?
Hopefully, one of those two methods will give you an IP address for each interface. Set yourself to that IP address and do a port scan. If 22 is open, do an ssh -vvv <host>. If not, let's see what else we have available to work with. Feel free to post the output, sanitized if need be.
Couldn't he do a factory reset, or "hard reset" as well as a last resort? (whatever ubnt calls it)
