Re: EdgeRouter POE Console Refused Serial Connection

That's the only COM port on my machine. (see screenshot).

My machine has a physical ethernet port (where an ethernet cable can be plugged in) and 3 physical USB ports. The rollover cable I have is a RJ45 Male to DB9 Female.  I don't have a DB9 port on the machine, so I bought a DB9 Male to USB converter.  I suppose I could've (should've) used a DB9 Male to RJ45???

So I plugged the RJ45 Male into the router console port, connected the 2 cables together with the DB9 Male & Female connectors, then plugged the USB connector into my laptop.

I was able to identify the first USB port in Device manager as "Generic USB Hub Port_#0001.Hub_#0001" and it's located on the right side of the laptop, toward the front, beside the RJ45 port.  The second USB port on the list is "Port_#0001.Hub_#0002" and it's located on the left side of the laptop toward the front.  There's another USB physical port also on the left side toward the back, but I can't identify which one it is on the Device Manager list.

Does any of this help determine what I'm doing wrong?  Will I not be able to connect with this machine since the only serial port is taken by the Intel device?  Or can any of the USB ports be used? (I know USB means Universal Serial Bus).
