The last post on this was almost a year ago. ISIS is the default backbone routing protocol we have used for 15+ years with BGP for all routes. Convergence time is nearly instant and we only carry loopbacks in ISIS so BGP can come up right away. With a full mesh or route reflectors/aggregators for different regions and using BFD on top of ISIS, an incredibly fault tolerant, quickly repairing, and scalable network design is possible with thousands of nodes and very easy configuration. I would potentially support the development to make this happen. If there are any community members out there capable of coding it to make it work reliably. This becomes even more appealing with the hopefully soon next generation of the EdgeRouter XG or whatever the inevitable 10G version will be called. Thanks!
