Try unplugging all the interfaces other than the one you use to connect to the device?
I've had issues after firmware updates where the ERL and ERX both go completely unresponsive and stop working, almost as if they've been bricked. Once I unplugged the PPPoE interface it seemed to spring back to life - still never understood why that happened.
Not sure if it will help, but maybe enter 192.168.1.1 as the gateway address in Windows as well?
