I would have the /30 in a completely separate netblock.
e.g. if sites a/b/c are 192.168.[1|2|3].0/24, use 192.168.0.[0|4]/30 for the AB/BC AF networks. Run these directly on the site a/b/c routers (and plug the AFs directly into them).
