if you want to avoid issue like the one you describe NEVER unplug the power BEFORE you issue a shutdown directive via CLI ..... after the shutdown directive is issued within 10 seconds the unit will close all running process and turn off all interfaces ... now you can pull the power from EdgeMax and move it.
Pulling the power before issuing a shutdown in all probability corrupted your USB Pen ... which means that you will need to redo the image
