We actuaully use Puppet to provision and manage edgerouter X devices.
It's not realy that straight forward and some tasks require some ugly work arrounds.
System update's are also a big problem as the root filesystem is simply replaced.
We forked the puppet vyatta module and worked from there.
Our devices are deployed as CPE transparant QOS devices. We plan to roll out 100 unit by the end of the year.
I'd be happy to share the code, but at the moment there is quite some stuff that is specific to our setup that would have to be removed first.
