So how did you configure the ER initially? Did you not hook ER's eth0 port to a computer and setup via web browser? Your point does not make a sense.
In regard to target choice, if you set both target to 8.8.8.8, then how does the ER determine which WAN connection is dead? Again, the target that can be routed from both WAN connection does not satisfy the purpose of detecting downed WAN connection.
Anyway, your points are not helping the problem I have for upgrading the firmware to version 1.8.5.
