Well, it worked when I left the the interface subsettings unset. I think that I may have followed a post that indicated to set the web dialog to dydns. Perhaps I never tried the blank setting?
It might be more intuitive to include a choice to use "router ip" in the dialog, but I don't care as long as it works.
