 When using 192.168.2.1 for dns, did you add a listen-on wg0 on your dns forwarder? If not, that is probably why it did not respond.

Using 8.8.8.8 will not resolve hostnames from your local network.

And I think route-allowed-ips is for when you are using wireguard as a client to a vpn service and it is the equiv of route-nopull for openvpn.
