2 WANs bonding but not for VLAN traffic?

Hi there,

I've recently set up an ER-4 in a new restaurant/bar venue.

eth0 & eth1 are two separate DSL WAN's from BT (PPPoE), eth3 is the LAN out to an Edgeswitch.

I don't have configs or CLI outputs right now so I'm hoping my explanation will do.

Default VLAN 1 - eth3 - 192.168.100.1/24

VLAN 10 - eth3.10 - Private WLAN - 192.168.1.1/24

VLAN 20 - eth3.20 - Meeting Room WLAN - 192.168.20.1/24

VLAN 30 - eth3.30 - Free public WLAN 191.168.0.1/16

Both DSL lines max out at around 18Mbps Down & 1.5Mbps Up

Now if I have my laptop hooked up via ethernet to the switch on a port untagged for VLAN 1 (default VLAN) with an IP from the subnet assigned to eth3, I get 30Mbps Down (and still about 1Mbps up).

If I connect the same ethernet to a port untagged on any of the other VLANs I get 18Mbps Down & 1Mbps Up.

Same for if I connect to any of the WLANs (which are on VLANs 10, 20, 30)..18Mbps Down & 1Mbps Up.

I've looked at the PPPoE interfaces on the dashboard during the speedtest when on the default VLAN and both PPPoE interfaces (for WAN 1 & 2) are maxxed out at 18Mbps Down, netting a 36Mbps Down speed on the speedtest site. But during a speedtest on any one of the other 3 VLANs only one of the PPPoE interfaces is maxxed out.

I used the 2 WAN & LAN wizard when first setting up the router, each WAN weighted 50%. Is it possbile VLAN 10, 20 & 30 are only getting access to one of the WAN interfaces?

BTW I wasn't even trying to bond the WANs/Interfaces, I just wanted load balancing, but randomly I did a speedtest and was very surprised when I saw my down speed had doubled!

Should this be happenning?

Thanks,

Any help is much appreciated Man Happy

Mike
