DPI categories and apps

Hey fellas and gals,

Forgive my ignorance..

In edgeOS it has DPI with Category and APP. My understanding is I could make category "Social Site" and add APP "Facebook", "YouTube"?

PLease further explain as I feel I am missing something. Does APP mean like android iOS apps? Or the description of a website? Can I add HTTPS/SSL/TLS/HTTP?
