Actually I believe his response was aimed more at the USG devices, and not EdgeRouter devices.
I haven't actually looked at this in a while, so there probably are methods other than what I'm currently aware of. I'm going to point out THIS old post, as well as the actual QoS doc from Vyatta 6.3 (found HERE). We also have a help centre article HERE, which touches on this.
That said I literally put my USG-Pro back in as my main gateway, and took down my ER-Pro yesterday. I would guess there may be some other ways to do this, possibly even with the new queue methods, but I'm not familiar enough with them off the top of my head.
I'll hook one of my ER devices back up to double check and follow up shortly.
