 I guess your ADSL modem is in bridge mode, and you do PPPoE on the ER-Lite? I don't have experience running it this way, but I think you would want to use the PPPoE device with Cake, so you don't include any additional LAN traffic over your ethernet device in the shaping (like arp requests, broadcasts, etc). For sure you want to specify the pppoe-llcsnap keyword, but I'm actually not sure about the via-ethernet keyword.
