I've only tried the default clients built in to Windows 7 and Windows 10. Both connect without issue just can't access anything outside of 192.168.0.0/24 once connected. I can go the openvpn route if needed was just trying to learn what I've done wrong since it seems like this should work and avoid setting up another VPS if I can help it.
With no gateway set on the client does it use the wan IP I'm connecting to via pptp as its gateway by default? If so, I'm guessing a rule would be needed to allow that but it'd need to only allow it for LAN users and active VPN users.
