@torankuzu
I'm going to bring this post to life again.
I have the same situation as you're.
I have manage to get GATEWAY GROUP working on pFsense for a while, with good results.
I have 4 wan connection from same ISP on my country (Venezuela) where internet bandwidth it's to slow. So I have managed to "combine" 4 wan connections only for downloading purposes and serve my clients in a good an reliable internet speed.
For now I have 4 x 10Mbps Cable wan from same ISP (this is the max speed you can get from this ISP).
So, the thing is I want to replicate and make some experimentation using a ER-X that I bought on Amz.
I'll be in touch in any progress I gets .
PD, I understand that Iptables on Linux aren't equals as Packet filter on BSD (pFsense) but this will be a great feature to add on EdgeOS, just behave as pF Gateway Groups are.
Sorry for any mistakes on my English, I need some practice.
