Can anyone explain to me the ability for the ERX to tag and untag traffic? I have two separate networks that I want to keep logically separate, but the sources of the traffic are untagged. I want to tag the traffic from eth1 and the traffic from eth2, with different tags, and then trunk them. I then want the trunk to carry over a transparent layer 2 PTP bridge, where then on the other station side, another ERX will then untag the separate vlans from the trunk to specific ports, such as eth1 being voice, and eth 2 and 3 being data. All instruction so far hasn't helped much. I thought I had the right ideas, but the whole PVID and VID's just didn't work like I was expecting. Please note that this is all layer 2 traffic confusions. No addresses, just simple tagging and untagging. I want two networks to remain separate, trunked into one, then PTP bridge from the trunk, and then untagg the traffic to specific ports on the other side. I got both networks to communicate on the station side of the PTP, but the ports didn't separate the traffic like they should.
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks,
